A Zen Affair
Painting Buddha
ZEN: Relaxing, pleasurable, or mysterious experiences, or more generally, being in the moment.
Play with paint and exercise non-attachment! The art is in the letting go! This is about learning to "let go" and trusting your inner guide to awaken or deepen your relationship with your spontaneous self. No experience with drawing or painting is necessary. There is no such thing as a mistake.
Through a guided process, you will start your painting by layering colors freely on a 11" x 14" white blank canvas, using high quality acrylics.
As you become more comfortable and connected to your free and expressive self, you will be guided on drawing the outline of your Buddha's face. You can follow my instruction or feel free to go in your own direction and create whatever version that appeals to you. Different samples of Buddha paintings will be there for you to refer to. This is not a technical step by step painting class.
Once you have finished drawing the outline of your Buddha's face, and adding more colors and layers to your painting, you'll start to see your Buddha come forward. When the layers are complete, you will add the final little touches.
Be open, have fun and see where it takes you! You'll go home with your own unique artwork and one day when you see your Buddha painting hanging on your wall, you may even hear two little words whisper.... "Let go."
